Travel Sketching
A year ago, I decided to take on a new hobby, travel sketching. I have always loved art so combining two interests art and travel seemed to be a fabulous idea. My new hobby has allowed me to see objects, nature and locations in different perspectives. I have sketched beaches, flowers and most recently, a building. It is such a great way to relax and be mindful of what you are doing.
On my recent visit to Bendigo I visited the Golden Dragon Museum and sketched Sun Long, the longest Imperial Dragon in the world. There are 90,000 mirrors covering his entire body. (The mirrors are to frighten away all bad spirits.)
Another day when discovering Bendigo I admired the lovely old buildings. I had never done a travel sketch of a building, so I thought I would give it a try. The former Post Office was built between 1883 and 1887.
