Juliet is an international award-winning author. She has written six books. Dance Demons her third book, won 2016 Book of the Year in the Reader’s Choice Awards AusRomToday competition and she also received a major bursary award for creative writing in another competition. She was a finalist for 2016 Author of the Year and her debut picture book Grace’s Mystery Seed was released in 2019.

Grace’s Mystery Seed was honoured as a ‘Finalist’ in the ‘Children’s Picture Book: Softcover Fiction’ category, 2019 International Book Awards and also has been shortlisted for the 2019 Speech Pathology Award, 5 – 8 year old category.

Grace’s Mystery Seed is on the N.S.W. Premier’s Reading Challenge List. There are free teacher’s notes for the picture book and for Outback Wonder.

Juliet spent several years as a primary teacher. She has a Bachelor of Teaching (Primary) and Bachelor of Arts (Psychology) degrees.

Juliet was a friend of the National Year of Reading 2012 and has also participated in the Reading Hour, Book Week and National Simultaneous Storytime.

Juliet’s Picture Books

Cato’s Can Can, is Juliet’s second picture book and was published in 2021.

Themes: Friendship, Australian birds, bravery, developing confidence and different dance styles.

Juliet’s debut picture book Grace’s Mystery Seed was published in 2019.

Age 4 – 9 years. And everyone who loves picture books. Teacher’s notes available.

Themes: Gardening, growth, outdoors, environment, nature, friendship, community and patience.

‘Polly likes these stripy seeds,’ Grace said. ‘What are they from?’ ‘Let’s find out,’ said Mrs Marino. Grace and her neighbour plant a mystery seed. They wait and wait for ages. Then a little green shoot starts to grow . . . and grow . . . and grow . . . until, at last, Grace discovers the truth about her amazing mystery seed.

Juliet’s Young Adult Novels

Outback Wonder, Juliet’s fourth young adult book is set in the Australian outback and was published in 2017.

Age 12 +   Teacher’s notes available.

Themes: Self discovery, adventure, travel, friendship, trust, relationships and romance.

Outback Wonder: The Australian outback is not a place seventeen-year-old Hannah would choose to visit. But when her parents separate and her father moves to the Flinders Ranges, she’s left with little choice but to go. Expecting only boredom and isolation, Hannah is all the more surprised when she meets Sam, a friendly young pilot with a secret of his own. A sudden change of plans, sees them travelling together to remote areas where Hannah is forced to change her perspective and face her fears. Lost in these unfamiliar surroundings, Hannah realises that the worst situations can sometimes lead to the best discoveries.

Juliet loves to dance and Dance Demons, her third young adult book was published in 2016.

Dance Demons: When Stephanie’s boyfriend is tragically killed in a car accident on the night of her 17th birthday, her once colourful life is thrown into utter chaos… but is there more to the story than she has been led to believe? Stephanie fails to find answers, even after a visit to the eccentric psychic Madam Farrell. Broken and disconnected, and in search of a distraction, Stephanie soon finds comfort in dance. However, this form of comfort quickly morphs into a dangerous addiction. Spicy Latin beats pulsate through her veins as she delves deeper into the handsome and alluring teacher Anton’s dark world of dance. Will the dance Stephanie loves lead her down a path of destruction or will it give her answers she is searching for?

Travel is a passion of Juliet’s and Bon Voyage! her second young adult book was published in 2013.

Themes: Self discovery, travel, adventure, friendship, relationships and mystery.

Bon Voyage!: What do you do after your heart has been broken? Amanda is a quiet, slightly nervous young woman who is trying to get on with her life after a failed relationship. She has always dreamed of going to Paris and seeing the Eiffel Tower and decides to join a coach tour of young travellers across Europe.

Juliet’s debut young adult novel is, Behind the Mask. The book was published in 2011.

Age 15+

Themes: Self discovery, self esteem, love, romance, betrayal, abuse and freedom.

Behind the Mask: A young girl dreams of finding her Prince Charming and falls head over heels in love, only to discover early on that she has been completely deceived. Caught in a web of deceit; in a resentful, angry, emotionally and physically abusive relationship, she tears away the mask behind which hides a love without compassion.
